We recently paid a visit to see South African artist @leevarspies in his East London studio, a space that mirrors his refined taste and instinctive way of working.

His paintings evolve through layers - added removed and reworked - echoing the natural cycles of growth, decay and renewal. Before committing to art full-time, Leevar worked several jobs to support his practise, a determination that still sits quietly in the background of his work today. The result is a body of work that feels both spontaneous and meditative, alive with movement yet grounded in silence.
